RACES Training

The Virginia RACES Basic Operator Course sets the expectation for basic knowledge for all RACES members who will assist in emergency communications at the local level.

Live training is conducted around the state several times yearly, and the course materials may also be downloaded from this web site. The five units comprising the Basic Operator Course, are:

Even if you have been active in amateur radio for many years, we recommend that you review all current units, because that the material is a good refresher, you should learn something new and also find the presentations interesting.
