Incident Command System

The Incident Command System Message format is the method used by emergency management agencies to communicate during emergencies.

The ICS system is very different from the traffic handling practices of the National Traffic System. ICS traffic is designed to move messages by the most expedient route possible between points and is the method you will enounter when dealing with FEMA, SHARES, DHS, CAP, Coast Guard, NTSB, etc....

It is important that you understand the differences, so that as a RACES operator you are able to operate and function effectively.

A synopsis of the forms listed below and their purposes are found as part of SOG 19: DRT Forms Used on Activations and Missions.
